BATINA (Best Assisting Tutor and INteractive Advisor) is a research application developed by the University of Coimbra, in order to promote personalized teaching.This platform aims to support new, more inclusive learning methods, in a closer relationship between the teacher and the student. New technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, mobile phones and the Internet of Things, allow BATINA to recognize different student profiles, assisting the teacher in teaching processes and adjusting teaching methods. In other words, the BATINA system provides counseling so that these students can improve their academic performance and, on the other hand, allows the teacher to find new pedagogical forms of teaching and adapt their teaching practices to the profiles of students in their curricular units.The BATINA project, being a platform in constant development, aims to reconcile new pedagogical techniques centered on the student, with the search for scientific solutions based on new technologies that allow to find teaching practices of greater proximity and, simultaneously, that are able to respect the privacy requirements individual.
